From August 1 to August 6, the capital of the Chuvash Republic hosts the Russian Weightlifting Championship among men and women.

Cheboksary is increasingly becoming the venue for major Russian and international sports events. Among them: the international sports forum "Russia - the sports power", the European team championship in track and field athletics, the international rally "Silk Road", the open Russian Cup in women's wrestling and others.
